SNL
Saturday Night Live is an institution in many households. For my family, when we were home on a Saturday Night it was the show my sister and father both were willing to agree to watch. The late night comedy show has been going on strong for 46 seasons and it showcases a lot of current pop culture in the humor. It's hard not to poke fun at American politics. Writers and cartoonists have been doing it for ages. SNL is just continuing that legacy. This has helped raise the profile of the show at times and the politicians looking for a second or two of fame. Candidates and officeholders from mainstream Presidential candidates to local New York based candidates have all managed to get a minute or two of screen time. Over 50 politicians have appeared on the show since 1974 and I have been making a collection the political spectrum to celebrate SNL & politics.
